Well-marked paths towards Książ, Lubomin and Trójgarb, of varying difficulty. A great way to spend an active day without a car, right from the doorstep.
Hours / prices: Bikes can be hired in Wałbrzych or Jedlina, rental points usually open 9:00–18:00.
Good for: cyclists after a view and (in winter) skiers
A mountain with a viewing tower and a network of walking and cycling trails. In winter a small ski resort runs here. You can go up by chairlift or walk it in about 40 minutes. A modern viewing platform sits atop Dzikowiec Wielki, with a small café and playground nearby.
Hours / prices: Chairlift open at weekends 10:00–17:00, more often daily in summer — worth checking the current seasonal schedule.
📍 Boguszów-Gorce
Good for: more experienced cyclists
A mountain range full of towers, caves and old forest roads — cool and shady even in the summer heat. History lovers get an added bonus: entrances to the Riese complex in this area.
Hours / prices: Free entry, trails open all year.
📍 Góry Sowie
Good for: everyone — from families to seasoned cyclists
An electric bike rental for adults and juniors, with trailers and child seats available. They also offer guided cycling tours that combine riding with the history of the area.
Hours / prices: Worth booking a bike ahead of time in summer season.
Good for: shorter, spontaneous outings around the area
A municipal rental point at the Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji — 6 electric bikes (Specialized) and 6 regular mountain bikes (Focus), plus a child trailer (for two children). The first rental of its kind in the region also available to tourists, not just locals.
Hours / prices: The number of bikes is limited — in high season it's worth asking about availability in advance.
📍 ul. Słoneczna, Szczawno-Zdrój (MOSiR)
Good for: easy online booking, a wide choice of models
A nationwide Decathlon sports-equipment rental — electric, mountain and road bikes, plus accessories (child seats, trailers, bike racks). Book and pay online, pick up at the Decathlon store.
Hours / prices: The store is in the retail park on ul. Szczawieńska, right on the border of Szczawno-Zdrój and Wałbrzych.
